Leaf it Alone has three collectible sets of 8, one per map: the mysterious photos in Hometown (which most players call cards), the playing cards in Castle and the battle cards in Sakura. Collecting a full set unlocks Say Leaf!, Poker Hand or Gotta Find 'em All. That is 24 collectibles in total since the free 1.1 update.
The Three Card Sets at a Glance
Each map hides exactly eight collectibles, and the journal shows your progress as a counter out of eight. The original map's set is officially called mysterious photos, but videos and guides call them cards all the time. The Castle and Sakura sets arrived with update 1.1 on October 30, 2026.
| Map | Collectible | Count | Achievement for all |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hometown (original) | Mysterious photos ("cards") | 8 | Say Leaf! |
| Castle (1.1) | Playing cards | 8 | Poker Hand |
| Sakura (1.1) | Battle cards | 8 | Gotta Find 'em All |
Hometown Cards: The Mysterious Photos
The first map's eight "cards" are photos pinned or tucked around the yard. Three can be grabbed straight away in the Shed, on the Porch and behind the Court backboard. The rest open up as you unlock the Garage, the Grill and the Greenhouse.
Collecting all eight unlocks Say Leaf!, which 41.5% of Steam players have. The set is also one of the journal objectives needed for Perfectionist. Full spots are in our photo locations guide.
Castle Cards: The Playing Cards
The Castle map hides eight playing cards across its rooms and gardens. You will find them in places like the Shop, the Fresco, the Ruins and the Throne Room. Collecting all of them unlocks Poker Hand.
Because many players search for this set as a "royal deck", we cover it on its own Castle cards page. The cards also count toward Castle Conquered, the achievement for finishing every Castle objective. The eighth card sits right on the Throne Room threshold.
Sakura Cards: The Battle Cards
Sakura's set is eight battle cards spread across the park, temple and garden areas. Spots include the Temple railing, the Dog Run tunnel and a lamp in the Recreation area. Finding all eight unlocks Gotta Find 'em All.
They count toward Like a Monk, Sakura's complete-all-objectives achievement. Sakura's story unlocks cannot be missed, so you can collect the cards at your own pace. Full spots for both new maps are in the card locations guide.
What Collecting Cards Gives You
Cards and photos are pure collectibles, so they do not give money, tool upgrades or leaf-value bonuses. Their reward is the achievement for each full set. They also tick off a journal objective on their map.
That makes them important for completionists going for all 54 achievements. Some cards only become reachable after you unlock later areas, so do not worry if a few are missing early on. Clear nearby leaves first, since leaf piles can hide a card.

- Poker Hand: collect all playing cards (Castle).
- Gotta Find 'em All: collect all battle cards (Sakura).
Quick List of Hometown Card Spots
If you only need a reminder for the original map, this is the short version. The full table with directions lives on the photo locations page. All three written guides and the video guides we checked agree on these eight areas.
- Shed: on the pinboard on the left wall.
- Porch: on the railing.
- Court: behind the basketball backboard (look up).
- Garage: on the floor by the right wall.
- Swings: on top of the electrical box.
- Basement: on the shelf by the big wine bottle.
- Grill: next to the door to the house.
- Greenhouse: inside the scarecrow's coat.
Where Castle Cards Hide
Castle cards follow the order the rooms open, from the Shop to the Throne Room. Two sit on the battlements of the Ruins and Terrace, so look up at the walls. Others are behind the squirrel statue's shield in the Fresco and on the beams in the Garden of Love.
The Dining Room card is at the exit just before the Stairs. The Leaf Garden card rests on a ledge of one of the columns. The Shop card is under the bottom shelf of a cabinet.
Where Sakura Cards Hide
Sakura cards are spread across eight different areas, one in each. The Garden card is on the right side of the stairs, and the Temple card is inside the railing. The Playground card sits below the stairs.
In the Dog Run, check under the dog tunnel. The Open-air card is at the base of a wooden stand, and the Lanterns card is tucked on a tree. The Recreation card is on a lamp and the Picnic card is under a tree.
Other Collectibles in Sakura
Sakura has two more collect-them-all goals besides the battle cards. Bag to Basics asks you to dispose of 12 leaf bags spread across the park. Bright Idea asks you to light all 12 hanging lanterns.
Both count toward Like a Monk, along with the cards. One Steam guide includes a map of all 12 bags and all 12 lanterns. Look for them while you hunt the cards to save a second trip.
Video Guides for the Cards
If you prefer to watch, several short videos cover the card spots. Ebanks Studios has a single video with chapters for Hometown, Castle and Sakura. Downsyndromecatz shows all 16 new cards across the two 1.1 maps.
For the original map, Mazzaradii and Jet Black both have short videos on the Say Leaf! card spots. Trickiey Gaming's full 100% runs of Castle and Sakura timestamp every card. Those timestamps match the areas listed on this site.
Tracking Cards in Your Journal
Every map's journal shows a counter for its collectible set. Open it with Tab to see how many of the eight you have. Each set is also a journal objective on its map.
The counter is the fastest way to spot a missing card. Compare it with the location tables and check the area you have not visited since it opened. Most missing cards turn out to be above eye level.
Tips for Finding Every Card
Look up as well as down, because several cards sit on beams, battlements or high boxes. The Court photo is behind the backboard, and the Swings photo is on top of a power box. In Castle, two cards sit on the battlements.
Check the journal counter after each new area so you know which card you are missing. The Greenhouse scarecrow catches a lot of players at 7/8, since the photo is inside the coat. In Sakura, check under trees and at the base of stands.
